The Association of Tourist Apartments (AAT) Costa Daurada and Terres del Ebre, which currently represents some 25,000 beds, has presented the data and assessment for the 2022 season.
As Joan Calvet, president of the Association, assures, “it has been a difficult year, but we can assess it as positive coming from the worst crisis in our history. We started the year with restrictions, from Easter we have been recovering, we have had a good summer and a good autumn”.
Even so, Calvet has indicated that “we have missed the Russian market and also the British. The national market has worked very well, during the pandemic, many families got to know us and we have seen how they have gone back to vacationing in an apartment”.
From January to October, according to data from the Tourism Data System of the Tourism Observatory of the Department of Tourism Innovation of Eurecat, 2,145,814 overnight stays have been made in tourist apartments in the Tarragona region, -4.4% compared to the same period of 2019 -the last year without a pandemic-.
